August 15, 2014 Just trying to update as there is so much going on. Thanks to all who have posted and Reg as crass as it may seem, I rally dont care for a minute what people may think. We have watched these older ones who were abandoned with Sister Sponsa grow up. My beloved husband loved each of them as much as I do and he died still worrying about them. Now he is in a better place where he can continue to help. We are trying to help get things they can no longer get in Liberia to them e.g. chlorine, masks, eye goggles etc. If anyone can think of a way to get wheelchairs beyond the rehab gates while disinfecting the tires and wheels I would be deeply appreciative. They already have chlorinated feet bins at the gates so that they can walk into the main gates and large vats with spigots where they can wash their hands with chlorinated water and soap coming and going. Of course we are discouraging any movement off the land. No braces and shoes on the beds. Anyone who has any suggestions at all please feel free to post. Everything will be considered. Now that all are focusing on Ebola and Well Poisonings we cannot forget that malaria and typhoid are also rampant. This means that many can die at any moment from these two diseases . Hospitals and clinics are mostly closed and are only seeing patients with Ebola so there are no Drs. available and the beginnings symptoms of Malaria and Typhoid are very similar . Medications can be bought however, most are outdated by 3-5 years and have lost their potency. If you look at the following link and really watch how they have an isolation unit set up perhaps you can familiarize us with ways of protecting so many. https://youtube/watch?v=EPMVWVr1DVI
