August 17, 2014 at Istrouma Post, Livingston parish, Louisiana. Good friends, good food, a fine day, and shoot all you want. Todays lesson was presented by our chief Indian scout Red Jacket. The subject was creating and loading paper cartridges with shot and powder. Everyone had the opportunity to make their own cartridges as well as test fire them on the range. This is all in preparation for our upcoming scouting and foraging expedition as part of Bienvilles campaign to confront the Natchez tribe in Mississippi!
