GPCMC CELL GROUPING ORIENTATION August 5,2013 Introduction: We admit in the past that we lack strong cell group to do what the Lord wants us to do. Now , we are organizing our strong cell group to care , build and empower one another to win souls, equip and care them too. Jesus said , “You did not Chose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go bear fruit- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give whatever you ask in my name..This is my command: Love one another. 1. What is Cell Grouping ? Our own definition : Cell Grouping is grouping our church members into small functional group of 3-6 , for caring, building and empowering one another to win more souls to make it 12 . Then the cell will be divided into two if more than 15 for easier caring, building and empowering to do the same task of soul winning ,equipping and caring. 2. What is a Cell group? A. It is the smallest unit in the congregations. 1 The promise: Jesus said, “where two or three gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Small group is the best way to build and care one another. 2 The Past: The early church used homes (Cell) for Christian gatherings. 3 The Present: All those who have cell grouping are the fastest growing churches today. . B. Cell- provides a warm, friendly, non threatening atmosphere, and leads to growth and multiplication 1 Membership 1.1 Open to both Christian and interested non-Christian, friends and neighbours. 1.2 New members are open to join anytime. 2. Composition 2.1 random but mostly according family members, geography, ages etc 3. Size 3.1 3 to 6 3.2 The group grows by drawing in new members. 3.3 After 16 and before 20 the cell should divide. 3. Who is Cell Group Leader? 1. One who is chosen. 2. One who is committed. 3. One who is anointed. 4. One who is an example 4.. Why the church need cell leaders? Eph 4:12-14, “To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ be build up. Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.” : 1Cor. 12 : 12 “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts, and though all its part are many, they form one body, so it is with Christ. 27 You are the Body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 25 So that there should be no division in the body, but that its part should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. Ezekiel 3:19. Watchman- to give warning. 5.What is the Character of Cell Leader? 11 Timothy3:19 “ so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”. 11 Timothy2:3-4” Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as soldier gets involved in civilian affairs-he wants to please his commanding officer. 1 Timothy 3:1-13 Here is trustworthy saying: if anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.2 Now the Overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable , hospitable, able to teach. 3 Not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s Church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgement as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap. 8. Deacons, likewise, not indulging in much wine, and pursuing dishonest gain. 6. What shall cell leaders doing? 1 Timothy 4:13 “Until I come, devote yourself to public reading of scriptures, to preaching and to teaching.” John 17:8 I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. John 20:31 these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. 1John1:4 We write this to make our joy complete. 1John5:13 write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 11 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking 6. What is the benefit for calling Mathew 25:21His Master replied, ”Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with few things, come and share your Master Happiness!.” 1 Timothy 3:1 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise whine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. 7 Why Cell groups? 1. They are scriptural. 2. They are effective Evangelism/ Edification 3. They are essential For personal growth and equipping for ministry/ For leadership training Organization of the church into small group For survival during church testing/trials. God Bless …………
