August 2, 2014: I wake up in the morning (US time) and the first things I hear on the news are that there have been clashes in northeast Lebanon between the Lebanese army and the fighters of Jabhat al-Nusrah and ISIS, plus clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers along their common border. Casualties in both cases, and fears that these instances of fighting will not end soon! This is one of those days when I regret ... not being born an Austrian, a Dane or a Finn. At least from where I have been situated since my birth, these nations do not seem have been involved in ethnic wars.
