★★★ Australia coach Holger Osieck says “women should shut up in public” ★★★ Socceroos coach Holger Osieck has been quick to apologise for a comment that could well have got him the sack after Australia’s 4-0 win over Jordan in World Cup qualifying ! The video below contains the following dialogue from Osieck’s post-match presser: “You want to sit here?” Mr Osieck said. “I’ll sit here. “You push me around like my wife. He said: “It obviously created waves, and that was definitely not the intent and to everyone who may feel offended by that, I would offer a sincere apology. It was nothing against women, it was a complete misunderstanding.” The former West Germany assistant manager added: “I have a lot of respect for women and have been married for a number of years and I’m still pretty happy with my wife so everything is fine. There was nothing serious in it – 100 per cent not.
