Australia doesnt have the money, or the care factor, to help those in need by offering residency to innocent families and their children, but somehow we have enough money to go to war. We routinely turn our back on the most vulnerable of our human brothers and sisters, but when the timing and the location are just right, we have all the care in the world for those who live abroad & we must fight to protect them. There has been so much media hype leading up to this day, in order to get our vote of anger and support. When one person owns 70% of that media & all I can see from many of my Australian peers is hate fuelled religious & racial based discrimination, tell me how I am supposed to believe that we have not been manipulated to some degree. Tell me why it is that today we care enough for humanity to fight for the rights of others, but for all the other days which have gone by, we quite proudly didnt give a shit? Tell me why it is that we continue to believe that the world we live in simply cannot be any better? It is the same story, time after time.
