Australia is really annoying me at the moment. Here are a few things i really dislike: - the fact that the Australian Government used my taxes to employ goons on Manus Island to terrorise people who fled from their homelands in fear of their lives - the disregard of education as something that is pursued for its own sake, and the policy view that users should pay, making access inequitable - the fact that there is no super tax on the miners and the banks, and that all the money made in the resources boom has been squandered, or made Gina Rinehart even more wealthy. In Norway, the North Sea oil boom has made a nation of millionaires through a sovereign wealth fund. Why are we so stupid? - the fact that the Labor Party are too chicken to oppose Abbotts ridiculous adventure in Iraq, which now has bi-partisan support. Why is it that the most useless and incompetent people are in Government? - the fact that James Packer has been able to build that monstrosity at Barangaroo and scar Sydney forever, just to attract high rollers likely brought here by organised crime syndicates - the ignorance about climate change and renewable energy exhibited by the Abbott Government, and their outrageous pandering to Big Coal - the School Chaplaincy program. Do i need to say any more? Theres lots more....ill get back to this soon.....
