Martin Fröst Clarinet Martin Fröst is probably the greatest clarinettist in the world, but more than that, hes a marvellous communicator and fantastic to watch. Astonishingly, he can dance while he plays, and his brothers new work has him performing as a marionette! Martin Frösts recording of Mozarts Clarinet Concerto was named the best by specialist magazine Clasica-Répertoire and his performance has been watched more than half a million times on YouTube – testament to the popularity of both musician and work. ABC Classic FM listeners voted the Mozart one of their top ten favourite concertos and many remember it from the film Out of Africa. Satu Vänskä leads music from her homeland Finland and plays Paganini-inspired music on the ACOs Stradivarius violin. *Brenton Broadstocks Never Truly Lost has been commissioned by Rob and Nancy Pallin for Robs 70th birthday, in memory of Robs father, Paddy Pallin. aco.au/about/aco Where: Hamer Hall, The Arts Centre Melbourne When: Sunday 17 November 2.30pm, Monday 18 November 8pm To be eligible for the very generous discount for this concert you must be an Arts Access Vic member to find out about membership contact Janice [email protected], phone 03 8640 6011 or Leisa [email protected], phone 03 9699 8299
