Authorities are investigating the scene where a body was found on federal land. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Border Patrol, and La Joya police are investigating the scene near U.S. 83 and 2521 Military Highway in La Joya. The body was found in a National Refuge Wildlife Park around 1:00 p.m., according to authorities. They believe the body is that of a person who was present in the U.S. illegally.
