Autism Awareness tidbit #2: They can be both Verbal and Non Verbal depending on where they fall on the Spectrum. Also, some kids start out verbal and have a regression that renders them non verbal while sometimes non verbal kids become verbal along the way. Regardless...not being able to talk does not mean these kids dont learn. There are some amazing videos of teens on Youtube who have never uttered so much as an I love you, mom but thru modern media can speak to you in ways that may help you understand what its like to live with Autism. I remember my first I love you, mommy that wasnt prompted...still one of the best moments of my life.
