Ava, a grieving mother, came to see me in hopes of connecting with her son, Jim, age 46. He passed 8 months ago of a long term illness.Ava arrived crying and kept apologizing for her emotional state. After several minutes, she pulled herself together and we got started with her session. Immediately, Jim came forth dressed very casual, wearing a baseball cap. He had a very distinctive walk and a very old soul. He introduced me to an older gentleman that accompanied him, He wanted his mother to know her uncle was with him and had assisted him as he had crossed over. I described the gentlemans appearance to Ava as much older than Jim and that he had served in the Navy. Thats my great uncle ,Theodore! Oh my gosh! I cant believe it. I loved him so much! Avas tears dried nearly in an instant. Jim explained that he was not intended to have lived a long lifetime. I wasnt meant to be an old man, he teased. He told me that many times, Ava confirmed. Tell her that I congregate in her kitchen. I repeated this statement and watched her jaw drop. Oh my gosh! That explains so much! The kitchen lights always flicker and I cannot keep the bulbs from burning out. My clock cant seem to keep time anymore either. Thats him!?!?! I laughed at her reaction and said; Well, he is certainly taking credit for it. He acknowledged his nephew and an old friend of his, sending them his love. Jim spoke of how he is frequently in the car with her. He went on to tease her unmercifully about her driving. Heck,Im dead and she even scares me! He then pretends to be holding onto the dashboard, thrashing around in the front seat, grabbing for the old fashioned oh shit handle. ha ha ha! Ava laughed and laughed. Jim described a small photo of him that she has in a frame and frequently talks to. Jim went on to share some personal messages with his mother, however, it wasnt long before he was back to laughing about funny experiences they had shared. He told of his old car from high school that was nick named Old Death Trap. He told of a time that the basement flooded and they forgot to plug the freezer back in. The meat had spoiled and smelt as if they were harboring a body in the basement. After carrying it out to the burn pile and the fire had fizzled out, a group of coyotes had feasted for hours in their backyard! lol Jim ended the session bringing his great grandmother forward to speak with his mother. She had helped raise her, as a small child. She assured Ava that she and Jim were together and that they were doing well. She raved as to what a great woman Ava had become and bragged about how very proud she was of her. Ava was well pleased. She had arrived crying and left laughing! It was certainly a joy to experience, myself!
