Ava update- When we got to the hospital we had a meeting with all her doctors to talk through our options. At this point the ventilator was up to 100% oxygen, which is not only bad for her lungs (with all the pressure they could get a hole in them or over expand) but also if her organs started failing because of lack of Oxygen there is no more they can turn it up to help her. One of our options was a steroid to help improve her lungs - and it does carry risks but at this point we need to help her lungs. After the meeting they fixed her artillery line and took her off her photo therapy light, swaddled her and put her on her tummy. At this point she did better and was able to go down to 80%. We still are going forward with the steroids because 80% is really high - but it was great for her to come down at all. Hopefully the steroids will help her come down even more. They will give it to her over the coarse of the next couple days. Going forward we hope her lungs continue to get better and her intestines hold up after they start feedings again. She also had another head ultra sound and there is only slight bleeding, which they said normally fixes itself, so they will just do another one in a couple weeks. Lets pray this does fix itself and its not something we have to worry about. This is such a crazy roller coaster - driving to the hospital Adam and I were very emotional not knowing if Ava was going to make it, and after leaving we felt she was at least doing okay for the moment. Please continue to pray for her, we really appreciate every prayer.
