Avaaz. org is circulating a request that people email comments to Secretary of State Kerry asking him to refuse to build the Keystone Pipeline. Its interesting that Avaaz is asking Kerry and not Obama. Anyway, I wrote and sent this comment: I hope and trust that you have retained sufficient common sense to understand that approving of the Keystone pipeline poses a tremendous threat to the well-being of the very land on which our nation depends, as well as the air and water, and that it threatens even worse climate change than we have already created. I join millions of Americans in urging you not to build the rest of the Keystone pipeline. We need to build no more, neither in pieces nor in its totality. We do not need to keep providing fossil fuels to a world endangered by them. We need to build solar, wind, and green energy, not filthy tar sands fuel. Please stop this madness. Please listen to the American public. Please prove that we are still a democracy and still sane, not a rabid, fascist corporate state.
