***Available for Adoption!*** A volunteer writes: Wow, is this the face of a superstar or what??!!! Say hello to Avatar, a gorgeous meatball with a heart as big as his chunky head and an intake profile thats the stuff of prospective adopters dreams! Photos simply cannot do him justice and this amazing guy must be seen to be believed but hes much more than just a pretty face and came to us with a whole laundry list of wonderful comments from his former owner. Were told Avatar loves other animals, lived and played with a little Guinea Pig (!!!) and was nothing but friendly to the dogs and cats of his extended family. Hes said to know commands for sit, lie down and give paw and to be housebroken when walked twice a day. When asked what sort of home would best suit Avatar, they noted he needs someone who is active and that hes very playful and friendly, he likes babies and other dogs - this boy really is the catch of a lifetime! Our date together was just as fun-filled as youd expect with plenty of ball play (zero guarding issues!), countless cuddles and lots of happy helicopter tail action whenever another dog stopped by our pen. Avatar is very energetic and constantly in motion but hell sit politely to lick treats from my hand and while he can get a bit jumpy when excited, its only because he wants to be as close as possible and once in my arms hes all about the snuggling. Though he does pull on leash, I make a quick switch to a harness and were good to go, trotting along at a brisk pace and pausing frequently so Avatar can take care of business and savor all the delightful scents (and tastes!) the outside world has to offer. With such unique looks and so much personality, no one who meets Avatar can fail to be wowed and a delighted passerby actually laughs out loud to see him huffing and puffing his way down the street, a huge sunshiney smile plastered across his face.
