Avatharam Movie Review Rating: 2.0 / 5 Hitmaker Joshiy, who tasted back-to-back failures with Lokpal and Salaam Kashmier, is back to form with the Dileep starrer mass entertainer Avatharam. The movie revolves around an educated villager who comes to the city to stay with his brothers family and the problems he faces there. The movie is produced by the scenarist duo, Udaya Krishna-Sibi K Thomas under their production banner Four B Productions. Cast and Performance Dileep delivers an energy packed performance as an innocent villager and a revenge-driven brother. As usual, he excels in the comedy sequences too. Lakshmi Menon, who is an established actress in Tamil movie industry, debuts as a heroine in Malayalam movie industry with Avatharam. The actress completely fits into the character of a smart insurance agent and looks charming in the song sequences. Joy Mathew, Shammi Thilakan, Sreejaya, Sijoy Varghese, Mithun Ramesh, Kalabhavan Shajone, Nandhu Pothuval and Chali Pala forms the rest of the star cast. Joy Mathew and Shammi Thilakan shines in their roles. Bangalore Days fame Sijoy Varghese deserves a special applause. Rest of the cast have also done their roles to near perfection. Script and Direction Joshiy once again proves his excellence in craft. The veteran director has delivered a mass entertainer which can completely the satisfy Dileep fans; as well as family audience. The crispy script by Vasan Edavankkadu makes the movie a good entertainer; despite its familiar story line. The first half of the movie is enriched with the situational comedy scenes and second half is packed with mass action sequences, punch dialogues and interesting twists. Technical Aspects R D Rajasekhars cinematography is above average. Shyam Sasidharans editing has helped in avoiding the movie falling into a low pace. Songs and Background Score Songs by Deepak Dev are average; but the background score completely sinks in with the situations and helps in creating an impact for the movie. Verdict Medium entertainer for mass audience
