Aviation Defense Contractor position at Fort Hood. DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze weather and advisories for aviators, files flight plans for local Visual Flight Rules (VFR), as well as cross country instrument Flight Rules (IFR) missions. Interpret and briefs aviators daily on local NOTAMS (Notice of Airmen advisories), overseas and trains the Automated Flight Records System (AFRS), Centralized Automated Flight Records System (CAFRS), and SCP-6 (Service Change Package 6) Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation program for assigned aviators to the Brigade, as well as the assigned Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) pilots and the Unit Fielding Training Program (UFTP) aviators. Provide primary support to the Dutch combined arms team training operations. Monitor applicable flight pay and career flight time, trains active duty Army flight operations clerks in proper radio procedures. CAFRS program and all other Military Occupational Skills (MOS) duties assigned. Process and gathers flight information from several different entities to publish weekly flight schedules. Develop Department of Defense Flight Information Publications (FLIPS) account and aeronautical charts to meet requirements for the 21^st Cavalry Brigade and supporting units. Organize the monthly 503-R report for reporting to III corps, and Implement a program for accountability, storage, and control of sensitive items in the flight operations section. Maintains the operational and serviceability of the Blue Force Tracking (BFT) and the Air Mission planning Systems (AMPS) in the Brigades Flight Planning Room. Operate the BFT system whenever requested by aircrews on training missions. Establish offsite flight operations detachment when required to deploy to the Western Training Area in support of the 21^st Cavalry Brigades UFTP and Foreign Military Sales programs.
