Awareness= ALS is a rare neurodegenerative condition that robs a person of their ability to move, speak, and eventually eat and breathe over 2-5 years after initial diagnosis. We dont yet know concretely what causes it, and current treatments are incredibly ineffective. Action= The #ALSIcebucketchallenge has already raised over 31 million dollars! Rare disease research depends on donations because pharmaceutical companies do not see rare disease research as a strong investment. I know the meme is tired... but when Pete Bilyk and Ben Baumer get challenged no is not an option! So we are each donating and challenging.
