Awesome thanks and appreciation to The Potter’s House and that wonderful, loving Man of God, Bishop T.D. Jakes! He delivered a very much needed and unique service today, after the verdict on the Treyvon Martin case on last night. Instead of the regularly scheduled service, there was a panel discussion on stage with professionals in their field (attorneys, counselors, minister, etc.) discussing the outcome of the Treyvon Martin case and what we, as a people as well as a church, can do moving forward from this. There is a great sweep of anger, sadness, discouragement, and uncertainty today after the reading of the verdict. …What precedence did the outcome of this case set for the future? Many parents are now wondering about the safety of their teen-age sons walking through a suburban neighborhood? What the Potter’s house provided was so timely. Bishop Jakes closed the service speaking my language (God heard my prayers!) saying that the church as a whole need to come together. We are not a black church or a white church, etc… but we are a red church covered with the blood of Jesus! We are a church of all sizes; big churches, small churches, and mega churches that need to come together… Thank you Bishop Jakes! Loved it… I have got to make it to that Mega Fest Convention. Jesus, please provide the provision!
