Awliya Timeframes On the last day of Ramadan, in the mid 80’s we were with Mawlana Shaykh in Peckham Mosque. He led Fajr, did the morning wazeefa with us, and then as he was leaving he stood in the door of the mosque, raised a hand to his forehead and looked up into the sky. “It will snow on Eid,” was all he said, and then left. The next day we celebrated Eid al-Fitr and as always it was wonderful with Mawlana Shaykh’s presence. The weather though gloomy, was not cold nor wintry at all. I returned to London in the mid 90’s, again during late Ramadan. I stayed through the end of the holy month and as Eid al-Fitr dawned, we looked out the windows of the Haqqani Dergahi, and saw, much to our surprise, a heavy snow coming down.
