What a fantastic surprise our stay here turned out to be! The gracious owners Donatella and Antonio greeted us upon our arrival with a warm and welcoming smile, and they felt like good friends immediately. They welcomed us with a passion and genuine enthusiasm that made us feel that our happiness and comfort were all they cared about. Their 200 year old Trullo, which they lovingly restored, is tastefully decorated with attention to every detail…a perfect marriage of the old and new. With its conical ceiling and white limestone interior you really feel that you have gone back in time to a magical place. The quiet solitude makes you feel at once calm, safe and at home. To make our stay even more wonderful, each day our kitchen was filled with delicious delights of Donatella’s homemade cheeses, their own organically grown olive oil and nuts, jams and yummy baked goods. There was more than enough for two meals. My friend mentioned in passing that she has some food allergies and Donatella returned later with soy milk, special lactose free cheese and gluten free baked goods. We got the feeling very quickly that there isn’t anything this woman can’t do! Alberobello is a serene and gorgeous countryside abundant with olive trees, ripening grapevines and bright, beautiful flowers. It transports you back to the Italy one doesn’t get to experience in the big touristy cities. There is a quaint tourist area very close by where you can explore the narrow streets and take amazing photos of the Trulli. Here you can buy some interesting things made by local artisans. We are so happy to have met Donatella and Antonio and to have experienced a perfect time at their lovely Trullo. They have a passion for making sure that the people who are lucky enough to come to Trullo Casa Rosa have an experience that will stay with them forever. If you are looking for a truly unique Italian experience unlike any other we highly recommend that you stay with Donatella and Antonio at Trullo Casa Rosa…you will not be disappointed.
