BAD NEWS for the Nurses: New case was reported by a Mother whose BABY DIED because of alleged negligence of the Nurse/s with the same hospital involved on allegedly Taping Babys Mouth....... the Cebu Puericulture and Maternity Hospital. REALITY CHECK: I definitely agree with the statement given by our PNA Cebu President Nurse Edith Rose Santos. IN AS MUCH AS WE WANT TO CATER THE NEEDS OF ALL PATIENTS there are factors hinders us in rendering our FULL ATTENTION on to EVERY patient. How can you CARE if the ratio is 1:30 (1nurse for 30patient) some public hospitals have 1:50 and even 1:70... it only reveals that MOST of the hospitals are UNDERSTAFF thats why CARE are being compromised. I am not one sided person, I want justice to prevail also and condemn those who made mistakes... but I just want to share my own opinion ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF THE NURSES, FOR SO LONG Nurses worked without perks or perhaps if they have salary it is not that big... NURSES are one of the LOWEST PAID profession and yet is the one WHO DEAL LIFE AND DEATH SITUATIONS. BOTTOM LINE: PRIVATE and PUBLIC entities should go over and evaluate the standards of health care... THE PROBLEM IS THAT EVEN IF THEY ARE AWARE ALREADY THEY WOULD JUST HAVE BLIND EYES & DEAF EARS TO ACT ON THE PROBLEM. hahai There are a lot of UNEMPLOYED NURSES, many prefer to become VOLUNTEERS in the Hospitals WHY NOT HIRE THEM IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEM. It is really HIGH TIME to support ANG NARS PARTYLIST in pushing the Salary Grade 15, the Ideal Nurse-Patient Ratio, the MAY NARS bawat Brgy., Public School etc. PIRMA NA SA SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN!!!
