BALADI program recently selected the winning municipal proposals in Lebanon following thorough and methodical studies on all the received proposals. Winning municipalities/Unions of municipalities are as follows: Municipalities: Sour - Saida - Al Kousaybeh - Kawkaba - Al Khenshara - Al Barouk x Fraydees - Aynata Al Arz - Al Kahhaleh - Ihmej - Jounieh - Eddeh x Bentael - Kousba - Dier Ammar - Bizbina. Unions of Municipalities: Jezzine - Al Bouhayra. To that end, BALADI Plus will offer the aforementioned muncipalities and unions the chance to receive technical assistance, coaching and mentoring, and on-the-job- training to enhance their institutional municipal capacities. BALADI Plus has started organizing workshops with the municipal members and core staff for each municipality relying on their input to self-assess the municipality performance and capacities over the following categories: 1- Management and Administration 2- Financial Planning & Management 3- Human Resources Management 4- Local Development Planning 5- Municipal Engagement with the Stakeholders / Local Community 6- Outreach & Transparency 7- Governance After setting training needs priorities by the participants, a tailored action plan will be designed to strengthen the institutional capacities and enrich the municipal work through a pool of a qualified and professional experts.
