BALLSTON SPA, NY—June 5, 2013—Ballston Spa National Bank announced today that in partnership with 3N Document Destruction Inc. and Tech Valley Recycling (TVR), the bank will host an Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Day. The event takes place on Saturday, June 15, at BSNB Corporate Plaza, 990 State Route 67 in Ballston Spa from 9:00 am until noon. A group of BSNB’s Volunteers In Action will be working at the event to help collect items to be recycled and shredded. This event is free to the public, however certain restrictions apply and non-perishable food donations will be collected in order to benefit local food pantries. Paper shredding: Please limit your materials to five boxes. Electronics recycling: TVR will be accepting computers, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, cables, all computer parts and accessories, TVs, radios, VCRs, DVD players, MP3 players, CD players, stereo equipment, calcu­lators, cell phones, PDAs, smart phones, laptops, curling irons, vacuums (please empty contents), hair dryers, toast­ers, house phones, ink and toner cartridges (please put ink cartridges in a plastic zip bag). Microwave ovens usually are charged a fee of $5; for this event there is no charge. Any rechargeable battery or car battery (cannot be damaged or leaking) will be accepted as will almost anything with a cord. Phone books, newspaper (please tie), cardboard, and sneakers are also accepted. Please call Tech Valley Recycling at (518) 877-9800 if you are unsure about your item. Certain items will not be accepted at the June 15 event. Please bring the following items to the TVR facility located at 767 Pierce Road in Clifton Park: alkaline batteries, fluorescent bulbs and CFLs (please call TVR for charges), air conditioners and dehumidifiers ($10), wood console stereos or large rear projection TV’s (no charge).
