BARBADOS CREATING GOOD CONDITIONS FOR SEAFARERS Barbados continues to honour a promise to spare no effort to create a better, safer working environment for its seafarers. Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Richard Sealy says the Maritime Labour Convention has been in place, since June. It addresses the conditions of employment and minimum requirements of seafarers to work on ships. Aside from this convention, he says Barbados national laws in place for the maritime industry. Mr Sealy was speaking at the Bay Street Esplanade where a day of activities was held in honour of the islands seafarers.
