BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER REKIEVED TO MAKE BAYERN RETURN The midfielder has been out of action since November but made his comeback as the Bavarians reached the DFB-Pokal semi-finals. Bastian Schweinsteiger admitted he was a happy man after at last making his Bayern Munich return in the 5-0 DFB-Pokal quarter-final second leg victory over Hamburg on Tuesday. The midfielder came on as a second half substitute as a hat-rick from Mario Mandzukic and goals from Dante and Arjen Robben sealed a resounding 8-1 victory on aggregate. Schweinsteiger has been absent since suffering an ankle injury in the Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen back in November and the 29-year-old gave a brief but telling response to making his comeback. It was good to play again, it felt good, of course, he said after Tuesdays game. The result means Bayern join Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Kaiserslautern in the semi-finals of the competition as they look to retain the trophy after winning it last term. Courtesy : goal (FDC)
