BASTROP COUNTY BASTROP Firewise representatives visiting Bastrop Representatives of the National Fire Protection Association’s Firewise Communities Program will visit the Bastrop Colony neighborhood at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Colony Community Center, 169 Stephen F. Austin Blvd. They will survey the work by residents to reduce the risk of wildfire damage and protect homes. Some equipment used as part of this effort will also be shown. Local and national officials, including Texas A&M Forest Service, will be available to address questions. This effort is part of a larger program that day, including a tour of homes that survived the Bastrop County fire. — Bastrop Advertiser
