BATAVIA PW Minor saved by two Genesee County entrepreneurs In the words of County Legislator Ray Cianfrini, Andrew Young and Peter Zeliff are Knights in Shining Armor to the more than 50 employees at the 147 year old footwear company PW Minor. Today, Young and Zeliff announced that they will be purchasing the assets of the company for about $2.85 million. The company was scheduled to close July 31, 2014. Young and Zeliff will receive an incentive package from Empire State Development for $450,000 through the Excelsior Jobs Program. Their goal is to keep the company open and to grow the business and create new jobs, says Young. There will be equipment upgrades and new jobs created in the very near future. Young is founder and President of the Young Group of Real Estate Companies and he co- founded PakHound Parcel Logistics. He is a graduate of RIT. Zeliff is the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of EIF Renewable Energy Holdings, LLC which wholly owns Innovative Energy Systems of Oakfield, NY, an independent developer and energy provider specializing in the recovery and utilization of landfill gas. He is also a graduate of RIT. PW Minor has been a manufacturer of leather footwear and orthopedic products since 1867.
