Students from the School of English at Queen’s University are to spend a day producing a half-hour radio programme about university life. Twenty-five selected students will work with staff from BBC NI Digital and Learning, using equipment on the BBC bus, to produce a magazine programme. The result will be broadcast on Queen’s Radio, queensradio.co.uk/ the student radio station. Participants will also be using social media throughout the day to publicise the stories they are working on – via the School’s Twitter account @SOEatQUB and #BroadcastDayQUB . The students taking part include undergraduates, students from the MA in Broadcast Literacy, and those studying towards a PhD. The participants were selected after students from across the school applied to take part in this unique opportunity.
