BBC Sports football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits - TopicsExpress

BBC Sports football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season. His opponent for the next round of Premier League fixtures, and Sundays Capital One Cup final, is actor, writer and comedian Tim Key, who starred with Steve Coogan as his DJ sidekick in Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. Key has been a Liverpool fan since he was a boy and says his own playing style resembles one of his former heroes. I am not very mobile. Like a deeper-lying Jan Molby, but probably like Jan Molby sort of now, so almost static, Key told BBC Sport. So if the ball comes directly to me, not too quickly, I am able to control it and pass it very slowly to my left or right. When I was younger I captained my school football team to the cup but I think that was a bit of a fluke because I was not very good before or after that, or probably during. And, in the final, I got taken off at half-time even though I was the captain. That was disappointing. Stoke v Arsenal Arsenal blew Sunderland away last weekend but the fact the Black Cats had the Capital One Cup final this weekend was a big factor in their performance. This is more like the sort of gritty game that Arsenal have to win if they are going to win the title. It will not be easy though. Stokes form has been good since the start of the year and they have a decent record against the teams in the top four at the Britannia Stadium - beating Chelsea and holding Manchester City. Arsenal won only once in six visits to Stoke when Tony Pulis was in charge of the Potters and I dont think they will improve that this weekend. Lawros prediction: 1-1 Tims prediction: When Arsenal play Stoke, they are not big enough and Stoke always win. 1-0
