Fed was reacting on reports that Mr. Stephen Davis, allegedly insisted he was negotiating with Boko Haram and that his revelations were made available to him by conversations he had with Boko Haram field commanders. He said, ‘“For now nobody has been hired by the government to negotiate on its behalf with Boko Haram. Anytime the government decides to do so, it will make it known to the public. “The government is still investigating the allegations made by the alleged negotiator. However, the government has no plan to question anybody because of those allegations made by the Australian,” he stated. For record, Mr. Davis, had mentioned,unnamed senior official of the Central Bank of Nigeria and an Egypt-based man as those funding the sect. Curiously, though, Davis, declined to disclose the identity of the CBN official, stating the CBN officials is currently being investigated and he didn’t want to jeopardize that investigation. But Mr. Omeri insisted that feds did not hire anybody to negotiate on its behalf with the Boko Haram. It must be recalled that Jonathan’s administration hired him to negotiate with Boko Haram with the aim of finding an end to the insurgency. At the end of his investigation he left the country without making any speech on his findings and he did not get the result for which he was hired. He failed to negotiate peace. Our source added, “Unexpectedly this man appeared on the internet news media he runs to give the names of the sponsors of Boko Haram. He named the former governor of Boronu State, and Gen. Ihejirika, former chief of army staff as among the terror sponsors. This revelation was shocking and embarrassing to Nigerians and especially the president. According to Mr. Davies there are other powerful men in the opposition party that are involved in the sponsorship of Boko Haram. Unfortunately he stop short giving the names of the powerful members of the opposition. He gave an insight about a one time governor of Central bank of Nigeria. He did not give the names of others because they are high profile people. “My concern here is which among those not named is more high ”profile” than the General, and former Chief of army staff? If he could mention his name and that of the former governor nothing should stop him from mentioning other names. There must be some other reasons why Mr Davies declined mentioning the names of the other sponsors and why he roped Ihejirika in the picture. It is still fresh in our mind that the Northern leaders, assumed sponsors of Boko Haram once accused GEJ of carrying out a genocidal war against the North. The dangerous allegation was written and circulated by Gen. Nyako then former governor of Adamawa state. Let us remember that this Mr. Davies then worked for Yarudua not GEJ directly.By implication this suggests that this man was in good standing with the Northern politicians and they trusted him to restore calm in the government of their kinsman. Terror examiners, like, Nafata Bamaguje, wonders how possible that like of Ihejirika will sponsor Boko Haram to kill Ndi-Igbo and destroy properties running in trillions of dollars. “Boko Haram commanders and some connected with them told me on several occasions Ihejirika was one of their sponsors” – Stephen Davis. He narrated incident in Washington,DC, that featured Mr. Davis. He said, “Sometime in 2009, l was given less than four days to head to Washington DC for a meeting , if l remembered correctly at the Council of Foreign Relations. The topic was the Niger Delta crisis.Apart from my minister, the foreign affairs minister, there were other Nigerian delegates from the Niger Delta. This so called negotiator was among the speakers and his presentation was highly questioned and some of his conclusions disputed. So we should be careful and carry a mental beware sign in embracing his report. Like the Niger Delta many foreigners over night became experts and ripped the nation off. He wonders how Ihejirika will sponsor, Boko Haram, while, ex-CBN-Chief, who is known financiers of Boko Haram is missing in Mr. Davis list of sponsors. “Again how would it benefit the Gen sponsoring a terrorist group in the North instead of the east where he came from? What would be his political gain in doing this? If the Gen. had the ambition of destabilizing GEJ’s government he would have armed any of the Biafra groups to start their violent activities in the South east. He could have started his own arm resistant group originating from the east. This news would shock all peoples of good reason as to how Muslims would obey a Christian and kill their own people and dethrone their Emirs. If you believe that Gen. Ihejirika is part of the sponsors of Boko Hara then check yourself you might be suffering from selective amnesia. “Why would anyone even imagine mentioning the name of this gallant warrior as part of Boko Haram? The answer is simple. The North and in fact the sponsors of the terrorists have constantly accused the president as being the owner of the group BH. It is reasonable then to mention a key member of the government as part of the conspiracy in the destruction of the North. If Ihejirika is a sponsor and he was a chief of staff under the government, then the connection is certain that the president is guilty as charged. In other words the target is still the president. He said, “I could not have said it better than you did; and I hope the likes of Rotimi Fashakin read you. “You see, it is the same General Ihejirika that Professor Ango Abdullahi, former VC of ABU and Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum threatened to take to the World Court at Hague for according to him, pushing Nigerian soldiers to commit genocide in their fight to route Boko Haram. “It really makes one wonder how really educated some folks in the forums are, if he/she would belief the Boko Haram propaganda spewed by the so-called Australian Negotiator. Perhaps, the likes of Rotimi Fashakin do not understand the concept of “misinformation” and “disinformation”. Naija folks, Na Waoooo”, he said. Meanwhile, Pastor Joe Attueyi said, he is skeptical of this so-called private negotiator. He said, “I don’t have any information to vitiate the man’s assertions. If you know anyone that the BH people are comfortable with and present to them as acceptable arbitrator(s), please name such, we are all ears. Awosika, added, “So you think hostage negotiation is a walk in the park. Please name a Nigeria that has that experience of negotiating hostage release. The act of negotiating for hostages release is both an art and science in which there is no Nigerian living today with such pedigree. US and other western countries use foreigners to negotiate for hostage release. The key to hostage negotiation and release is not the nationality, but whom the hostages are comfortable with and convince would be honest broker. So you guys should get off this your irrational patriotic folly and come to the realization that you are in a global village. You might not be aware… but there was a spate of kidnappings in this country, in which the victims were eventually released after due negotiations/ransom.
