BCRT was very saddened to hear that Shannon Corr passed away yesterday – over five years after she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 14. She recently joined her dad Danny, brother Ryan and their friends for their training ahead of RideLondon, which they completed for BCRT at the weekend. She was an inspirational and beautiful young woman who showed huge strength and grace during her illness, as well as great passion to raise awareness about primary bone cancer. Speaking to BCRT recently about Team Shannon and RideLondon, she said: “This is very important to me and others, because if more people are aware of this horrible disease then fewer people will be diagnosed, giving them a better prognosis and chance of cure. “Great awareness also means more money raised for research, improving treatments and therefore the survival rates, which is ultimately what we all want. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time.
