BE PRIVILEGED: Islam is grand. Living in the state of Islam is too splendid to be described. The tingling sensation that works itself up from heart until it reaches its way to the limbs, and while in every prayer, every word, it feels as though we’re living in the utmost satisfaction. Islam has a remarkable ability to change the outcome of an individual, to turn the tables of life, and to transform. It offers us the ability to be completely dependent upon Allah and free from the burden that lies in the judgmental hands of man. A believer is at no point fearful of consequences as long as he firmly believes that Allah is the ultimate Judge, and therefore, he asks himself: who is to compare to Allah? Absolutely no one! Ask yourself now, are you privileged? Have you woken up in the early morning and from the depth of your heart, in an hour you’ve secluded yourself with Allah, uttered: ‘Alhamdulilah’. Praise is to Allah for our health, our parents, our eyes, our hands, the sky, our friends, our food, and certainly for our safety. A person who desires to thank Allah is one who feels pleasure for he knows that even in the act of being thankful, there is reason to be thankful. For in the moments when you uttered the word, you’ve become from the privileged! Allah says, “and few of my slaves are thankful” Have you ever sensed joy in loving a person for the sake of Allah? Have you pondered the fact that it is the unconditional love for Allah is what has brought you both together? Can meaning get any deeper than this? Two souls, whether they are friends or marriage partners, decide to unite under the very roof that teaches virtue and compassion, under the horizon of righteousness and morality, under the sublime teaching of the Quran. They are certainly amongst the privileged. Those who tend to each other, ask about one another, and sacrifice each other’s time, money, and effort to please one another without the strain of financial or social gains. Could this be true? Surely, there is a life waiting for those who are…yes, privileged. Have you, at any point in your life, genuinely served Islam? Have you given money in charity, or perhaps written an article, or called a friend to practice a Sunnah? Have you honored your parents, visited the sick, followed a janazah, or attended other’s invitations? Those who are serving this deen, the silent warriors of faith, are indeed floating in the ocean of bliss. They rather face death than give up the unbounded feeling of serenity. Why do you leave all these implications aside, rather than involve yourself personally? Why do we read the stories, the battles, the glories, and the rest of our noble history so and leave it to be a source of entertainment rather than a methodology of life. Will you allow others to outdo you in this world and the hereafter? Have you no zeal to be the first, to be amongst the few, and to certainly be amongst the privileged?? Don’t look at where you live today or how much you have in your account. Put all that aside. Look closely, for just a minute, at where you will end up…for we will all end up somewhere. A place beside the Prophet, peace be upon him, is reserved for someone, and only Allah knows who – at this very moment – are struggling endlessly for that spot. Brother, Sister…be amongst the privileged! ALLAH KNOWS BEST!
