BE WARNED: PENALTIES & JAIL TERM FOR THE ILLEGAL RECRUITERS Please report the illegal recruiters, who are not licensed by the MOM and/or POEA, to SHEG admins, MOM and DOLE or POEA. The following penalties apply to them 1. Singapore Ministry of Manpower: I think up to 2 years jail and/or $20,000 fine, or both. Deportation and permanent blacklisting if the recruiter is a foreigner. 2. Philippines Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) penalties: Illegal recruitment violation carries the penalty of imprisonment of up to twenty years and civil liability of up to P2 million in fines. A Filipino illegal recruiter making commission from other Filipina victims and deploying them in Singapore could be punished by both Singapore and Philippines authorities. Please keep your eyes open. We suggest the use of licensed recruiters only who follow the laws of both Philippines and Singapore without indulging in human trafficking and without charging any unfair deductions, contract substitution, etc. Anyone assisting the illegal recruiter can also be charged and punished for the same.
