BE WARNED...This happened to a FB friend We were filling up petrol at a pump in Lonavla, or maybe it was Khalapur. We gave the guy a Rs 1000 note and he came back saying the note was a counterfeit one. Now these notes had been checked and rechecked for safety. We checked the nakhli note along with the other notes we had. Only this one was of thicker paper. Our suspicion? That the pump attendant interchanged our genuine note for a fake one in a laughably silly scam which is so simple and therefore so effective. So the next time you brandish a big note, follow the note and its bearer, to check that it is not being exchanged. What a con!!! (simple and worth a 1000 big ones every time considering how many petrol users use the K note)
