BEECHWORTH LUNATIC ASYLUM - 1867 A complimentary dinner was given last evening, at Cartons Hotel, to Dr. Mousse, one of the resident surgeons at the Melbourne Hospital, on the occasion of his departure from the city to enter upon the duties of his newly-acquired position of superintendent of the Beechworth Lunatic Asylum. A company numbering between thirty and forty gentlemen, chiefly composed of members of the medical profession, who had been associated with Dr. Moussé in the hospital, and French residents of the city, sat down to an excellently served dinner, and the proceedings were of a very pleasant nature. Mr. Knaggs occupied the chair, and Mr. Beaney the vice-chair. The toast of The Emperor of the French was warmly received ; and in connexion with the toasts which followed, very high testimony was borne to the personal and professional merits of Dr. Moussé, for whose future prosperity the warmest wishes were expressed.
