BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE OUR LEADERS: Think again and think - TopicsExpress

BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE OUR LEADERS: Think again and think hard...they say when you point an accusing finger, the rest four points back@you. Just yesterday a lady drove by our street and not immediately finding paring space, in a hurry, parked along the road blocking 2 cars (including mine), and dashed into one of the several office buildings. Few minutes later, i rushed out under the rain to catch up with urgent engagements& got stock...together with my colleagues searched every single office in 6 adjourning premises in vain...only for her2prop out after over 40 mins. As expected, she said, oh! am sorry. Though obviously upset, after trying in vain to hop lift her car with two guys (its a BMW - very heavy on the ground), I told her that her being sorry wasnt the point. I simply asked her a question: have you ever criticized Gov. Amaechi, Pres. Jonathan or any other leader, clergy, businessman or politician in your life?. It was a rhetoric she didnt have2respond...i then told her: next time you think of attacking ur leaders for being self centered, also think that that could could as well have been you, & probably, you may have responded like Gov. Oshiomole saying go and die to anyone questioning your rational for any selfish action or decision Or even worse, you may kill to have it your own way as being in charge without questioning.. We defy and drive against traffic, jump cues, lobby for positions in church club school and workplace, create factions&divisions in order to grab power in our small groups, gossip & run down friends, neigbours&church members, cheat on our spouses, suppress the truth about our incomes, under-declare our age, make false &unfounded claims, hide assets &incomes from taxes, claim money for flight ticket and go by bus, under-buy office stationary, lie under oath, claim false indegenship/citizenship and do numerous other socially accepted wrongs and still turn back to accuse our bosses and other leaders of wrongdoing...isnt that self deception? LESSON: The truth remains that we are collectively (directly or indirectly) responsible for the bad leadership in Nigeria, however you see it. If you say that Gov. Amaechi or Pres. Jonathan is a devil then youre most definitely a demon operating under them. Hence, if we truly want a better leadership, let us in our little corners - homes, offices, schools, and everywhere - do it right and in the right way, and let us accept correction when obviously wrong, regard the general interest above self interest...and teach same to our children by extension...then we shall have better leadership and a better Nigeria... GOD BLESS NIGERIA
