BEHAVIOUR SPEAKS VOLUMES A casual look through the social media and online press articles will show up reports on the PSI reading and people monitoring it like the stock market. There are people complaining about how the haze has disrupted their lives and holidays, the Government not doing enough, curses thrown at Indonesia, and the usual jokes where you can’t help but laugh when caught in a crisis. It doesn’t stop there. There are reports of retailers jacking up prices of N95 masks and even an incredulous report of a man who was caught snatching a packet of surgical masks from someone’s supermarket basket. One can only shake one’s head in disappointment. Not all is bleak. There are some encouraging silver linings. A nod of respect to Facebook group, “SG Haze Rescue”, which was set up 19 June 2013, to encourage those who want to offer their air-conditioned rooms at home to those in need.
