BENCH TECHNICIAN The Bench Technician configures and maintains microwave, two way, data, satellite and other wireless communication mediums and accessories. Involves RMA, record keeping and documentation on equipment movement. Responsibilities: Setup and repair electronic communications equipment, including but not limited to radio, microwave, data routers and satellite systems. Equipment fabrication and equipment cleaning required. Complete all required paperwork such as service tickets, RMA’s, asset transfers, shipping and receiving bills of lading, decommission of equipment orders, and etc. accurately and obtain proper approvals from job site location management. Communicate job progress to CapRock management on an on-going basis. Projects as assigned by management. Must possess a “Customer First” attitude. Maintain a professional work area. Comply with all safety requirements implemented by employer, customers, facility owners or venders involved in the employees daily task, including but not limited to, Lock Out/Tag Out, First Aid/CPR, Lifting, Fall protection, etc. Minimal travel required. Qualifications: 1 year of experience working with electronic equipment Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Preferred Additional Skills: Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Experience with communication systems including Radio, microwave, data, and satellite technologies preferred. Experience installing and maintaining microwave and satellite technologies is preferred. Working knowledge of Cisco Routers, Digital/Analog mixes, satellite modems, satellite radios, two way radios, media converters, fiber, up/down converters, telephony, stabilized antennas, Computer and Microsoft Office preferred. Some working knowledge of Asymmetrical, SCPC, DAMA, VSAT, IP, VoIP, LAN/WAN, Frame, FDMA, TDMA, FSK, Trunking, FM, AM, Spread Spectrum, RS232, RS449, V.35, T1/3 preferred. Working knowledge of BERT test sets, Spectrum Analyzers, Scope, Network analyzers, Communications monitors, Transmission Test sets, and TDR preferred. Ability to grasp new products and technologies with little formal training. Ability to handle high levels of stress and workload. Possess excellent written and verbal communications and decision-making abilities. Skilled in proper usage of a variety of hand tools.
