COMMENTARY Lord tells how we become our own enemies or friends Anywhere for a friendship or enmity to exist There should be at least two entities to interact One entity is mind , another one is intellect Here Krishna talks about three principles How the mind, intellect effects The Soul Soul is like a knife which can kill and save Mind is like a hand , it decides how to use Intellect is superior to mind, closer to soul Soul becomes friend if mind listens to intellect Soul becomes foe if mind neglects the intellect Enmity or friendship is only covering of The Soul Core of our inner Soul is ever serene and pure If body , mind and soul are put in jail Body and mind are punished but not the Soul Unison in soul, mind and intellect relationship Enhances love, the substance of friendship Separation among these three entities Eradicates love, leaving ourselves as enemies Soul is the friend if one conquers the mind Soul is the foe of an unconquered mind Friendship , universal love takes us to Lord Enmity, any hatred, takes us away from The Lord
