BHARATIYA JANATA PARTY ARUNACHAL PRADESH ITANAGAR PRESS RELEASE Itanagar August 13, 2013 Economic and Political Resolution passed at BJP State Executive Meeting at Tezu on 10th August, 2013 moved by Kiren Rijiju, BJP National Executive Member. 1. Corruption - The status of the common people of Arunachal Pradesh is in dire condition due to rampant corruption and misgovernance of the State by the Congress (I) Govt. Most of the developmental projects are either languishing in cold storage, unfulfilled or delayed due to lack of effective action. Funds from Central Govt. and State resources meant for various crucial social programmes are not benefitting the common people as desired. Numerous corruption cases are being unearthed under various dept but no action worth have been taken to curve the corruption. The CAG’s indictment of the State Govt. for various financial irregularity is a serious matter. 2. Fiscal Mismanagement – The financial status of Arunachal Pradesh is under acute deficit due to fiscal mismanagement. Besides budgetary deficit, the excess expenditure of budgetary allocations and advance loans taken from external agencies have put the State under heavy debt burden. The notional State matching share and misuse of SPA funds as discretionary funds of the MLAs, Ministers, MPs and CM has put a question mark on the prudence of financial management of the Congress Govt. The fiasco created during 2013 march ending and advance spending of the amount from next financial year allocation is a serious economic fraud committed against the spirit of rules. 3. Law and Order- The Security scenario of Arunachal Pradesh has deteriorated further over the years. Criminals are running at their will, Police lock-ups are easily broken, Govt. Officials are physically beaten, dignity of girls are abused, Media persons are attacked, young boys are carrying guns, Business community are harassed and general public are not feeling safe. The State Police Force is neither equipped adequately nor trained effectively. 4. Empowerment of Grass Root Body – Complete devolution of Powers to the Panchayats and Municipal bodies is essential for ground level implementation of welfare schemes. The planning and execution of developmental projects must be initiated from the Village and Block level. ( BR Wage ) General Secretary, State BJP
