BHm -Humour No 24 Michael Edward Palin CBE FRGS (1943- ) An English comedian born in Sheffield had a fine education at Shrewsbury and Oxford University. He used it to a good advantage through his involvement with a dearth of talent that blossomed at the same time as his own career took off in drama and travel. He worked with all the top names in the entertainment industry such as Sir David Frost, Frank Muir, John Cleese, Bill Oddie, the two Ronnies and Tim Brooke-Taylor and so many to name but a few It has been suggested that the Monty Python Show cemented his arrival in the comedian geats during the modern era. His marriage to Helen Gibbins since 1966 and 3 successful children have kept this popular personality in the publics attention continuously as he travelled the World making interesting amusing works at locations in North and South Poles, Sahara Desert, and Himalayas. Even off to Eastern Europe and Brazil. BAFTA awarded him a Fellowship and he has been the President of the Royal Geographical Society
