BIBLICAL PROOF THAT TONGUES, PROPHECY, AND MIRACLES CESSATION TEACHING IS THE FALSE DOCTRINE OF DEVILS. NOW the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 1 TIMOTHY 4:1-2 If we realize that we are doing it or not when we teach or preach a false doctrine we are teaching the Doctrine Of Devils. When we are taught something and become hard headed that we must have been taught right because we think so highly of our Teachers its easy to fall into error. The teaching of cessation of tongues, prophesy, and the Gifts Of The Spirit are absolutely Biblically incorrect as Im about to show you. The only verse in the Bible that says tongues will cease and prophecy will fail is: 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. OK for starters it says tongues will cease prophecy will fail, but when will this be? NOTE: It says nothing about miracles and The Gifts Of The Spirit ceasing. In the same verse it say Knowledge will vanish away. Has knowledge vanished away? Daniel says in the last days in Daniel 12:4 that in the last days knowledge was going to increase!!! So do we believe Daniel and The Word Of God, or some preacher saying these things are gone? It goes on to say we know in part and prophesy in part. Thats correct. Some of us know what Gods Word says and what we know, and the Lord tells us what we dont know. Sometimes He gives us pieces of a puzzle, other times God paints us a complete picture. Of course if a prophecy gets messed up, as usual thats mans doing not Gods. Now it goes on to say when that is perfect is come then that which is part shall be done away with. Cessation Preachers say The Perfect is the Bible. I agree the Bible is perfect but thats not what The Apostle Paul was speaking of. It was 382 AD when The 27 Books Of the New Testament Canon was compiled in Rome. Now they are claiming thats when this all stopped, because the Bible was completed then. Perfect in the GREEK is (teleios) complete in all its parts, full grown, of full age. Well the Church surely was not of full age in 382 AD when the Bible was completed. We will get back to this shortly. Then it goes on to describe childhood and the coming to manhood and putting away childish things. What a insult to God if we are calling Gifts that brought salvation to tens of thousands if not over 100,000 souls CHILDISH. Thats not what Paul was saying. Paul is making a analogy between being a child and knowing a little to becoming a man and knowing much more to being in this world and knowing a little to stepping into eternity and having the Knowledge Of The Lord. Then it goes on to say now we see thru the glass darkly, is that not the truth? Then it goes on to say but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. O.K. The last two sentences are commonly used by preachers including Cessation Preacher when doing funerals speaking about when the deceased go to heaven, which is a proper interpretation. Then they flip and say thats talking about cessation when the Bible was complete. THEY CANT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS WITH CONFLICTING INTERPRETATIONS. Now Paul said but then I shall know even as I am known. PAUL SAID I, MEANING THAT HE WOULD BE THERE. PAUL WAS BEHEADED IN 67 AD AND WAS NOT AROUND 315 YEARS LATER WHEN THE BIBLE WAS COMPLETED. Also it says prophecy will cease. Since 1948 we have had a large amount of end time bible prophecy fulfilled, which is long after 382 AD. We however still have nearly a third of OT prophecy to fulfill and much NT prophecy left to fulfill including much that Jesus spoke of. SO DID PROPHECY FAIL? So when the perfect comes means according to the GREEK when the Kingdom Of God is of full age, complete in all its parts. When The King Of Kings and The Lord Of Lords comes back to earth to rule and reign over His Kingdom. When the earth is filled with the knowledge and Glory Of The Lord (see Habakkuk 2:14) Then I will see Him face to face and know as I am known. Of course we wont need tongues and prophecy anymore. 1 Corinthians 14 makes it clear that the Gifts Of a The Spirit are for edification, exhortation, and comfort to the Body Of Christ. WHEN DID OUR NEED OF ALL OF THAT CHANGE? So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:7-8 THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF PAULS 1st. LETTER TO THE CORINTHIAN CHURCH. IT MAKES IT CLEAR THE GIFTS ARE STAYING UNTIL THE RETURN OF JESUS, Incidentally some refer to ministers that God uses to heat thru the anointing and The Gifts Of Healing Faith Healers. There is no such thing. God heals himself thru the faith he gives us. We are simply vessels, we cannot heal anyone. Im The Lord that healeth thee. Exodus 15:26 Also there are some that say the Gifts died when the 12 Apostles died. Paul called them The Gifts Of The Spirit, not the gifts of the Apostles. For that matter if they were gone when the NT was written why would God waste so much space in the Bible teaching them if they were irrelevant when the Apostles died, or when the Bible was compiled. Not to mention the fact that the common man did not have a bible until the 18th. Century. Many of these Cessation Preachers say that God does not talk anymore. Since when does a Father not talk to His Children, or a BrideGroom not speak to His Bride? These same Preachers warn you about the devil speaking to you. SINCE WHEN DOES THE DEVIL HAVE A GREATER VOICE THEN GOD. The problem is these preachers are so carnal, in there flesh they cannot hear the voice of The Lord. If they could God would tell them to quit preaching that HERISY. Jesus said my sheep know the sound of my voice. John 10:27 If someone is not walking in obedience to the Lord they are not His sheep, they are goats. The following are scriptures that make it clear that we are supposed to operate in power in The Kingdom Of God thats in us. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:38-39 Does this not make it clear that being baptized in the Spirit goes on and on. It does not stop as most Cessation Preachers claim? ROMANS 11:29 Says that the Gifts and callings of God are without repentance. Other translations say irrevocable. Thats pretty clear God does not take back His Gifts. That would be a Kingdom with preaching not of enticing Words like many preach today but of power. 1 Corinthians 2:4 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. 20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 1 Corinthians 4:20 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:17 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:29 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12 How could we do greater things if the gifts have ceased. I believe this has not occurred yet and it is about to manifest in the coming outpouring on all flesh. Another thing many Cessation Preachers teach is that The Gifts, tongues and prophesy were for the unbelieving Jew. Well Paul was a Apostle to the Gentiles and he walked in the same Gifts. The Greek way of thinking has been prevalent in many Gentile culture, which is full of reason and logic which destroys faith and creates a Spirit Of Unbelief. So are the JEWS so much more subject to unbelief? But even if they are, God gave The Kingdom to the GENTILES to provoke the Jew to jealousy. Romans 11:11 Walking in His power is what provokes The Jew to jealousy. Now lets look at some scriptures of our benefits from tongues and other Gifts and see that they have nothing to do with the unbelieving JEWS. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jude 1:20 WHAT DOES BUILDING OURSELVES UP PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST HAVE TO DO WITH A UNBELIEVING JEW? For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2 WHAT DOES SPEAKING TO GOD HAVE TO DO WITH A UNBELIEVING JEW? Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 1 Corinthians 14:22 Prophesy is for those that believe, what has that got to do with the unbelieving Jew? If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 1 Corinthians 14:24 We are not supposed to speak in Spiritual Tongues around the unlearned or unbeliever. That makes it clear Spiritual Tongues are not for the unbelieving Jew!!! The cessation movement was created of men with little or no faith that wanted to explain why they were not seeing any miracles in their churches. In the past 150 years when outpourings of the Spirit occurred with manifestations of the Spirit, the Spirit falling on people, and they started praying in tongues and operating in The Gifts Of The Spirit, some of these preachers felt threatened or offended because this was not happening in their churches. Others just did not understand it. Religion trys to put God in a box. God does not fit into anyones box. Religion wants to control a move of God, you cannot control how God moves. Some say its not God because its not obvious to them in the Bible. Usually its there to some degree. The Bible however says that there was not space to record all of the works of Jesus. Would it not make sense that the Bible does not contain everything that there is to know about God?
