BID NOTICE Bids are now being accepted by three families participating within the Mutual Self-Help Housing Program for the purchase of building materials. Three homes are to be constructed—two Craig style plans and one Potter style plan. Bids will be accepted through July 10th, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. Plan descriptions and materials listings are enclosed. Bids are to be submitted using the following procedure: 1) Materials listing(s) of items to be sold (without prices) shall be submitted in one sealed envelope. 2) The cost of items to be sold shall be submitted in a second sealed envelope in an easy-to-interpret format. 3) Applicable sales taxes should be included. (All purchases will be made by individual family participants who are NOT sales tax-exempt. 4) Each bidder will be submitting two separate sealed envelopes. 5) Unsealed envelopes will NOT be accepted or considered. 6) Material listings should follow the same numerical order of that listed within the bid packet. 7) Bids envelopes submitted along with materials lists that do not include all items listed upon and in the same numerical order of the enclosed materials lists will NOT be opened. 8) Both envelopes should be turned into the Ozark Foothills Development Association, 3019 Fair Street, Poplar Bluff, MO no later than July 10, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. Bid submissions including comprehensive, properly formatted materials listings will be opened at 3:00 p.m., July 10, 2013. The SHH Program’s construction supervisor will review all material listings for accuracy and completeness in the time period between the bid submission deadline and the bid opening. Bids corresponding to materials listings that are found by the construction supervisor to be inaccurate or incomplete will be unopened and returned to the bidder. Participant families will be encouraged to be present at that time of bid opening and will make all decisions regarding materials purchases as a group. Families are encouraged to select one material provider for all participants so as to maximize purchase quantity and encourage competitive bid submissions. Bidders will be provided an opportunity to address the participant families at the time of bid opening if so desired. Questions regarding the materials listings should be directed to Construction Supervisor Clayton Brooks at (573) 712-4491. All other questions should be directed to Felicity Brady, Executive Director at 573-300-9399.
