BIG OPPORTUNITY for the Mayor to make good on his pledge to bring honest, open government, and a public process. The Attorney General has already ruled that the City of El Paso MUST release the emails requested under the Texas Open Records Act (TORA). The previous council had refused to do so, even filing a lawsuit with yours and my tax dollars to fight the AG Opinion and withhold open records. Rep. Emma Acosta has placed on the agenda "Discussion and action on the status of the Texas Attorney General’s opinion on the release of personal emails that pertain to official city business...". DISCUSSION and ACTION!! Call your City Rep and call the Mayor and ask them to drop the lawsuit and release the information that is open to the public!! That is making good on a promise!!
