BIGGEST LOSER CHICAGO WAS BY FAR MY FAVORITE RACE THIS YEAR!! PLEASE DECIDE FOR YOURSELF IF YOU SUPPORT A RACE SERIES OR NOT!! I had the most fun at this race of all the races I have done this year. I think it is very rude to tell others whether they should support a race or not. It would be more appropriate to tell others about your experience and then let them decide for themselves. I personally had a blast!! Yes, the shirts were cotton and I expected tech. But I did go back and read the website and it DOES NOT say tech. So, I guess I have another race shirt I wont really wear. But its not the first race I have ever done where I was given a cotton shirt. I love the design on the shirt so there is a good chance I will wear it every now and then, just not for training. And yes, they did run out of water at mile 6 before I got there, but I had a water bottle with me because I am a grown up and dont rely on races to keep me hydrated. Thats my job. I use the aid stations before my own water, but in case they run out, I make sure I am still taken care of. By the time I got to mile nine, I saw TWO golf carts with gallons of water headed down the course... so they were aware and were replacing the water. You have to give them credit for fixing the problem when they realized there was one. I can not comment on the beer because I dont drink beer. Things I enjoyed: 1. I loved meeting soooo many contestants. I did not expect for some many to be present and so actively available to us. I took pictures with SEVEN different past contestants and had my race bib signed by 5 of them. That was pretty cool. I even had a full conversation with Tara about my sparkle skirt. You dont get that at a RNR race!! 2.The course was great. I loved the flat course, the awesome view, and all the directional signs! You were NOT going to get lost on this course. 3. Medic runners!! What!! I have never been at a race before with 20 runners geared up as medics. All along the course there were folks in ACE bandage running gear with red fanny packs stocked with all kinds of items.... RUNNING!! Thats right... they were running up and down the course looking for folks who needed help! THATS AWESOME!! 4. Finally, I was super impressed with the awards for both running and walking. And they didnt just award for top three walkers.. it was the top three for each age group. Thats a TON of awards. Finally, a race series that appreciates those who get out there and move no matter how fast you are moving! No, everything was not perfect, but I for one will continue to support the Biggest Loser Run/Walk series! I had a great time and thought they did a great job!
