BIGMANISM CAN ONLY HAPPEN IN NIGERIA-SA Not ready to be deterred by those he had earlier described as “the idle and idling, twittering, collective children of anger, the distracted crowd of Facebook addicts, the BBM-pinging soap opera gossips of Nigeria,” Abati returned to his Twitter handle on Monday after he earlier on reported that his account was hacked and the hacker posted an update purporting to come from him to the effect that President Goodluck Jonathan knows the whereabouts of the abducted Chibok girls. This time, he posted the pictures of security chiefs arriving the villa under the rain for a security meeting with the President. In the pictures, their aides were seen holding umbrellas for them while the security chiefs walked briskly into the venue of a security meeting with President Jonathan. Reuben Abati posted the pictures to show that even the rain could not deter the President and his Service Chiefs as they defiled the rain to brainstorm on how to secure the populace. How wrong he was. The picture also attracted criticism. The angry twittering, BBM pinging, Facebook addicted collective soap opera gossip loving arm chair critics also posted pictures showing US President Barack Obama holding an umbrella by himself. They put the pictures side-by-side with those of the service chiefs, saying what they described as ‘bigmanism’ can only happen in Nigeria. Whereas the aides of the Nigerian Service Chiefs were holding the umbrella for their Ogas in the picture uploaded by Abati, a Child of Anger posted pictures of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and President Barack Obama holding umbrellas after the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, at the Pentagon Memorial, during a ceremony marking the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Friday, Sept. 11, 2009.
