BIOGRAPHY OF RON BOYT Ron Boyt was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but his family is originally from Orlando, Florida. A few of his family migrated to Cleveland to live. Ron moved to Columbus, Ohio, where his family resided and he continues to work on music projects and community events. Ron Boyt started out as a young R&B singer and he started performing at Mrs. Ross’s local talent shows. Years later he joined an R&B singing group call Clockwork they performed at many local events for WZAK 93 FM Radio One and had a hit single in rotation called “She’s The One”. Clockwork performed at State wide talent shows, but there biggest event was when they performed at Lou Rawls Telethon in New York City. Mr. Boyt had a desire to help the career of local artists so in 1999 he started his company Divine Entertainment Inc. Ron Boyt began promoting local groups in Cleveland and from there branched out across the Midwest Region of the country. Mr. Boyt was giving an opportunity by Chuck Carter and Ms. Dorcus Johnson to showcase talent at the Glenville Recreation Center. Then Mr. Boyt met Councilman Kevin Conwell where he worked for him in The Council of Fathers program. Kevin Conwell is also a musician he promoted on various venues in Cleveland. Mr. Boyt promoted other artists as well. Some of the artist he promoted include: Split Image, Ah’ Mour, Unique, Emoni Love, Jeremy Scott, Julie Riggs and Kamar Taylor out of Detroit, Michigan. In the gospel arena Mr. Boyt worked with the gospel promoter Taller Williams where they promoted gospel artist such Top Noch, Nathaniel & Troy, Mista & Mrs. Taylor, Belinda Haywood, Soldier, Nicole Thomas, Cassandra Woodard, Earl B Smith, Venetia Draper, Patrick, Triple 7, Poetic Prophet, Royal Descendents, Tenisha & Veronica Dunn and Mr. Figueroa. Mr. Boyt worked with children artists such as Adrenalyn Rush, Demetris Owens, The Smith Family Dancers, High Maintenance, 504 girls, Unyque, Cory and Kena they performed at the following festivals: Glenville, Collin Wood, Euclid, Buckeye, and the Lee Harvard. During his career he has partnered with other promoters and management companies. He collaborated with MC Management to help promote and book music acts such as Silent Scope, Rae N. Rajkumar and Chandra Turner on a host of public events. Ron Boyt then joined forces with promoter Silver B Richards to help independent artists such as hip hop artists Money Train, Lost City, Nappy Headed Fred, Sir Noc, As One, Therobread, Soulja Boy of Mo’ Thugs, Gel, Yo Boy Meer and Meka artists performing at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Mr. Boyt did collaborations with multi talented Producer Yoni who introduced him to Kris Friday, Myisha Godfrey and Melissa Figueroa B.K.A “Cha Cha” and promoting them for showcases around the State of Ohio. Mr. Boyt began promoting for Undercover Records where he promoted his nephews rap artists JA Veezie and the Ice Breakers winning first place in there rap competitions. Mr. Boyt became good friends and worked together with Dennis Cash, Q-Nice and Phatty Banks, Jim Buchanan, Syrice Adams, Charles Reed Sr. and Kermit Henderson promoting artists such as Strict 9, Mid West Maffia, Adrenalyn Rush, Lost City, Gel, Yo Boy Meer, Kamar Taylor, Money Train, Smooth Approach, 71 North and David Tolliver of Men At Large at Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Mr. Boyt provided talent for the Jeff Phelps Television Production Show with such artists as CW3 Robots, Demetris Owens, Dori Lil, Eddie Hands, Ebonie Lane, D. Devon, Urban Dance Collective, Amira, Naree, Fully Equipped and BJ for Jeff Phelps annual events. He won the Community Choice Awards hosted by his Syrice Adams at Tri-C Community College Metro Campus, and he received his first Proclamation from former Congress woman Stephanie Tubb Jones at 11th Congressional Black Caucus. Mr. Boyt with Divine Entertainment was very popular using his company to help independent artists in the Midwest region: where he received many resolutions and proclamation from politicians throughout Cuyahoga County. Mr. Boyt worked with professor Preston Picket providing talent showcases for Black Studies Program at Cleveland State University. He worked with Student Activity, Homecoming and Student Board providing talent and coordinating events at Case Western, John Carroll, Cleveland State, Wilberforce, Central and Ohio State University. Mr. Boyt met promoter Joi Tate and together they promoted R&B artist Lyfe Jennings on showcases in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Boyt started working with friends Owen Rattliff and Shawn Straughter to helped promote R&B artists Rated R and Trunell Salter of Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Boyt worked with Vince White and did The Baltimore Festival, The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, NAACP National Memorial Convention in New Orleans LA, Las Vegas Black Expo, Bobby Jones New Artist Gospel Retreat, The Essence Festival, Roseanne Barr Show, Show Time At The Apollo Show, Hillary Clinton in Washington DC, Black Expo Down town Cleveland Convention Center and The Indiana Black Expo. Mr. Boyt has provided artists many opportunities to open for Major recording Artists such as Avant, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, Ginuwine, Case, Usher, Bennie Man, Janet Jackson, Jada Kiss, Tyrese, Beyounce, Jagged Edge, Boys II Men, Project Pat, Lil Zane, Bizzy Bone, Fat Joe, JaRule and Ashanti at the Promo West. Mr. Boyt worked with Radio One and Jeff Majors Blanket Tour for the homeless in Cleveland. Mr. Boyt received news publication write ups from Eric Gaines of Cleveland City News, Urban Crusader News Mr. Ras Mutunji, Shenise L. Johnson, Todd Neil of Cleveland Life Magazine and others. Mr. Boyt coordinated events for Wooster, Addison, Glenville Branch Libraries and other venues such as the North Coast Stunts Celebrity Concert, Barbizon Talent Showcase, Metro Health, Good Will, Hough Norwood, Martin Derpores, Holiday Inn Teen Summit, Celebrity Soul Food Cook Off and Radio One 107.9 FM WENZ Spin Off at Karesh Park. Mr. Ron Boyt worked with Gerald Carter with June teeth Festival in Akron and provided talent for Al Porter for the Love Festival in East Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Boyt worked with American Red Cross Gun Safety Program using artists to perform such as Lashawn Gordan, Shorty Chrome, Straight Talk, Jump Out Boyz, and Cleotha. As of today Ron Boyt is working on his MADD (Make A Difference Daily) Music Tour. True to Ron Boyt’s passion that MADD Music Tour is about showcasing local independent artist in their hometown and across the country giving the exposure and performance experience. Also part of the music tour is to give back to the community by partnering with the organizations that service youth and their families.
