BIOGRAPHY Boris Martinovic - bass - baritone Already as a student of the New York Juilliard School of Music , the young Croatian born Boris Martinovich held his first performance at Avery Fischer Hall in New York s Lincoln Center in opera from Refice: Cecilia , together with Renata Scotto . His performance inspired Bill Zakariasena to write for the New York Daily News, the following : Boris Martinovich was twenty - one-year operatic bass singer with enormous potential . Boris Martinovich has won the international scene in 1977. with the performance of the Queen of Spades of P.I. Tchaikowsky. After that, as a regional finalist of the Metropolitan Opera , Gian Carlo Menotti engaged him in the American production of Spoleto in Queen of Spades with Magda Olivero , as well as in new production of Menotti: The Consul ,which was recorded for TV . Shortly thereafter, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall , and soon appeared in leading American opera houses such as the Cincinnati Opera in San Francisco , New York City Opera and Baltimore Opera . These are just some of the musical cities that are enthusiastically welcomed his performances. Since then, he is appearing in opera performances at major world-wide opera houses such as : guest appearances in the most prestigious Italian theaters: the Teatro di Parma ( within operas : G.Rossini : Semiramide , Ch.Gounod : Romeo and Juliet , G.Donizetti Lucia di Lammermoor ) , Teatro Rossini in Pesaro ( role Mose , G. Verdi : Tancredi ) , Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste, Teatro dellOpera di Roma , Teatro di San Carlo in Naples , La Scala and La Piccola Scala in Milan , Paris opera, the Vienna State Opera , Theatre Graslin Nantes it .
