BJJ is my life, I love my job and I really cant imagine my life - TopicsExpress

BJJ is my life, I love my job and I really cant imagine my life without it. Since my first day on the gentle art I realized it was something I was going to do for my whole life. I had no doubts about that, I scarified many things during my journey to make my dream of living BJJ life style came true. From the start on BJJ I just wanted to be like some of my friends in the gym who I considered really good fighters and maybe one day getting similar or better level than theirs. I believe I achieved that level and Im happy with that but day after day my goals were changing, and after I got my purple belt my next goal was to be a BJJ instructor. When the opportunity finally came, there I was with 10 people in the front of me waiting for my instructions and I felt I should never stop learning and evolving because the students were trusting on me and I was an example to them. From that day on I knew that teaching BJJ was more than a simple opportunity to have a nice second job, I was literally changing peoples lives. For the last 11 years I had the privilege to laugh and cry with my students, win and lose comps with them and make so many friends. But in Brasil I would never have imagined I was going to do my job overseas and more than that, that I was going to have a solid team around me on both countries and have under my lineage 12 black belts. All belts are very important on BJJ but the black belt its a big and greater responsibility for who is promoting a student, and looking for the student point of view means more than just reach a big achievement or to get an excellent level on the gentle art, it shows the person has commitment with his or her club, discipline, respect and dedication. Im glad to say Murat Besnek and Peter V Vela have all of those skills to be a black belt. Murat became a very close friend of mine and more than my students is one of my main train partners, his dedication and talent inspires everyone at the club. Peter is one of my very first students in Australia and we are working together for the last 4 years, this guy is a big and great example of good friend, student and train partner. If the black belt is a white belt who never gave up it shows how important and solid has to be the foundation of their Jiu-Jitsu, on that moment of the journey the BJJ practitioner has to learn all basic concepts in the art, learning on that well they have the chance to teach them selfs and share their knowledge with other people around. Florence Liang, Adrian James, Pete Darwin, Mark Luna, Sam Joseph, Chris Chan, Serhat Besnek, Jarrod Beardwood, Richard Lättemägi, Anton Harrison-Kern have been showing a great development on the art of BJJ and they are already bringing that back for the team and team mates. I believe Im doing my mission well and I wish I can multiple that many many times again I fell very blessed and proud for reaching that point on my career and Im looking forward to do much more from now, always respecting everyone and working hard and honest as usual. Back in the day of my first class with 10 people until today I just want to thank everyone who taught me or has learned some thing from me. Oss
