BJPs attempt to form Govt., in J&K. In my own wisdom, I wish to put forth the Pros and Cons of the attempt of BJP to form Govt in J&K. 1) It would be great for J&K to have a Govt bereft of PDP and NC who were having one foot always on separatists land. Ofcourse the perennial chair grabber Cong., will be out of power after such a long time. But the BJP needs the support of PDP or NC as a senior or junior partner who will still derail the wishes of BJP. 2) If BJP assumes power, it is an opportunity for them to return home. The presence of PDP or NC in the Govt might slow down the return anyway. 3) Forming the Govt as the Senior partner or Junior partner will ensure proper representation of Jammu people as BJP is the true representative Jammu people now. But all the promises made in the campaign and especially for the Jammu can not be fulfilled due to the presence of PDP and NC. 4) If BJP is going to have the CM, then the hands of the armed forces could be strengthened and they can discharge their duties without fear and handle the terrorism more effectively. But like the Sangh parivar, the Armed Forces may also indulge in excesses. 5) While terrorism can be handled more effectively if BJP holds the steering, there is a possibility of increase in insurgency as Pakistan is not going to take that so lightly. 6) It can boost the morale of the BJP cadre that for the first time since independence it can taste the power in the controversial state, and fulfilling the wishes of the Shyamaprasad Mukerjee. But it will be a throne of spikes for them as they will not be allowed to have a peaceful Govt. 7) The state can be in alignment with the national policies, and developmental programs can be implemented seamlessly. But if BJP start to undermine the special status of the state, the alliance will be broken and thus the state will have a political stalemate. It may be an alliance akin to the alliance between the frog and the rat. BJP and PDP/NC cannot tread in others ideology. They have been divided as party of Jammu and that of Valley, eventhough they have not planned for it. BJP can not even murmur about the special status, Article 370, uniform civil law, etc., BJP can have a freedom in running the Govt only to the extent of the length of the rope that they have they have tied up with PDP/ NC. But it is time that the state have a different governance than the one they had in the past from PDP/NC or Cong. A different approach is needed in the way in which the state has been governed for so long. Who knows, the BJP may alter the course and steer it in proper course, a wish I would like to gift to myself.
